Ascension
Concept of attaining god-like self awareness and learning the truths of the world.
Ascension is both accessible to everyone and unattainable to anyone.
Ascendants are often described as the Gods. It’s hard to argue with that assessment, considering Alamina's path across the sky as the Second Sun.
There’s nothing above Ascension.
“To ascend means to reach godhood.”
“Sure. In a way,” Jacques smiled in that infuriating way. Of course there was more to it-
“It’s to become a dreamer in a dream. Creator within the creation. The greatest minds of this world believed that you can reach state of ascension by power of mind alone. That the purest ascension happens when a farmer wishes for the last mouthful of water in his bottle and then it’s there.”
“But you don’t believe in that.”
“No,” he laughed. “I believe in-”
Knowing he was wrong all along, I finished for him: “You believe in power.”
